For those who pre-ordered their iPad in Canada, Apple promised that your iPad would be delivered on May 28th.
Some, myself included, will not get theirs by noon as stated on the original tracking notice and possibly not at all today. Online rumors were floating around this morning that there were FedEx flight delays due to "cargo reorganizing," and that some might be shipped Saturday or only Monday. How this could happen is strange. They have known of these orders for a month.
Waiting by the door

It is Friday May 28th, 2010. My iPad is supposed to be delivered today by 12pm.
Here is a chat I was just having with my buddy:
Me:
May 28, 2010 7:58 AM — At local FedEx facility — ST LAURENT, PQ
that was at 7:58am. It has to be out for delivery then right?
Come on say I am right?
Should I call?
I hope the doorbell is working
Do you think he will knock?
What time is it?
They said by 12pm
10:45 Should I eat now because I know I won't once it arrives?
I think I hear a truck
No, it drove by

Apple has started emailing shipment notices to International customers for the iPad. Many speculated that they might receive theirs early since the tracking order status says "Delivery by May 28th" and not on the 28th. Don't hold your breath. Keeping in line with the U.S. deliveries, the shipments will arrive on the day Apple promised, not before.
Apple's next gen. iPhone having video chat is a waste of time.

I know it is what people say they want, video chat. Some people seem to love it. But in my experience, most people I come across are not comfortable with it. The technology has been around for a long time, yet it has never really caught on. Is that because the devices have not been good enough or because people are too vain and don't want to look bad on screen with the other party? Or both?
