What is the future of American education and how will technology affect it? You may have read about recent events in Austin, Texas regarding the School board's curriculum decisions. Based on their conservative views, the board made some rather controversial decisions concerning what should or should not be included in their textbooks.

The clock is now ticking. Apple’s iPad hits U.S. retailers April 3rd and migrates north of the border sometime before the end of the month. The gamechanger in all of this isn’t the device, however. It’s the pricing model for 3G service that AT&T will follow – and how it could potentially push Canadian carriers to follow suit.

The iPad has been available for pre-ordering since May 10th and available for purchase as of May28th.
Yes. The iPad is unlocked and can be used with another carrier on a GSM network. The data plans available for the iPad vary for each carrier. Once you bring it into Canada, you must buy a Rogers micro sim card to activate your 3G capabilities. One caveat. On Apple's site they do say you may not export the device. It is up to you to decipher the legal meaning of that.
If you are one of the people in the U.S. that signed up for the "Notify Me" option on the Apple site, then you may have already seen the email in your inbox. On Friday March 12, at 8:30am EST Apple began taking orders in the U.S. for the iPad. They promise to have the Wi-Fi version at your doorstep or for in store pickup on April 3rd. The 3G version will be delivered by late April. No specific date on that yet. Other countries will have to wait until late April as well.

Beginning March 12th, Apple will be taking orders for the iPad. The Wi-Fi version will be available for purchase in the U.S. on April 3rd, with the 3G model coming in late April. All models will be available in the U.K., Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Italy, Japan, Span and Switzerland in late April.
