First Impressions of iPad
David — Thu, 01/28/2010 - 11:50am
Well, Apple announced it's iPad yesterday. In the last 19 hours I have been reading and listening to many different people giving their opinions about the device. Here is my take.
On Wednesday Steve Jobs announced Apple's latest device, the iPad. This is the long-awaited tablet that everyone has been talking about for the last year and even longer. Many expect this to be the saviour of the publishing industry. That remains to be seen. The price points (see below) are seen by many in the tech industry as reasonable. That also will ultimately be determined by the public.
Apple Stock manipulation or just smart business?
David — Sat, 01/23/2010 - 5:31pm
In years past when Apple participated in MacWorld Expos every six months, you could always count on a few things. New product announcements and stock manipulation. Well, they no longer attend the Expo (do they still exist?) but APPL stock manipulation still exists. It never fails. Whenever Apple is about to have an "event", especially a new product launch, stories begin coming out 2-3 weeks prior about their earnings past and projected. Some analyst will set the share's target price at an unrealistic price. Predictably the price slowly climbs over the following 2 weeks.

A leaked email from the promotional department of Intel indicates that Apple will soon be including a new Core i5 processor in a future MacBook Pro. The email sent to Intel's Retail Edge Program announces a motivational drawing for it's employees. The price is a new MacBook Pro with this processor.
Apple will announce their long awaited Tablet on January 27th, 2010. Also rumoured to be released at the event is the iPhone 4.0 beta SDK (software developer kit). Some iPhone developers have already been asked to prepare their applications for larger screens (full size).
Rumours are that the tablet would be shipping by the end of March.
