It's Here. Well, Almost Here. U.S. iPad pre-sale has begun.
If you are one of the people in the U.S. that signed up for the "Notify Me" option on the Apple site, then you may have already seen the email in your inbox. On Friday March 12, at 8:30am EST Apple began taking orders in the U.S. for the iPad. They promise to have the Wi-Fi version at your doorstep or for in store pickup on April 3rd. The 3G version will be delivered by late April. No specific date on that yet. Other countries will have to wait until late April as well.
Some people in other countries have been asking if they can buy it in the U.S. and use it in Canada. It is our understanding that yes, you can do this. The iPad is unlocked and therefore in theory be used with any carrier. With the Wi-Fi model, it is a moot point as it only needs a local Wi-Fi network.
