iPhone OS 4.0 to be released Thursday says report

Apple has scheduled an event for Thursday April 8th, 2010 when they are believed to be announcing iPhone OS 4.0. It will likely include full multi-tasking support. The new iAd mobile advertising service is likely to be announced as well.
Multitasking is something developers have been wanting for a long time. Apple iPhone OS .0 is reported to have full multi-tasking to allow 3rd party applications to run in the background simultaneously with Apple's own applications. It will support the iPod touch, iPhone and the iPad.
On Monday, Apple sent out invitations for its iPhone OS 4.0 preview event, scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific time on Thursday. The company has said it will give a "sneak peek of the next generation of iPhone software" at the company's Cupertino, Calif., campus.
