All too often Canada has to sit by and watch with jealousy as the neighbours to the south enjoy their new Apple toys. It took a year before the iPhone reached up North. Now with the U.S. April 3rd release of Apple's latest "must have" gadget, the question is how long until Canada gets to have some fun? Those who just can't wait, can cross the border and bring back the Wi-Fi model. The 3G model is due to be released everywhere in late April.

According to iPadinCanada.ca Apple Canada has blacked out the weekend of April 24th for it's employees. That means all hands on deck; no days off. If this is true, it leads one to believe something big is coming. We know what that is.

Pre-Orders for Canada
We haven't seen any pre-order option for Canada and we don't expect too. As most Canadians know, the wireless rates are not very consumer friendly. Most likely, the Canadian carriers do not want to deal with a build up of negative press coverage pre launch. If the past is any judge at all, the public will not be happy with any rate plan they come out with. And one can skeptically assume a 2-3 contract will be involved. Lets hope Apple uses some leverage to pressure them away from that.
